The President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, has stated that the rehabilitation of the Town Hall of the Sevillian municipality of Écija represents the recovery of an important project in the artistic heritage of this Sevillian municipality.
This project has received significant investment, with two-thirds funded by the Junta de Andalucía, approximately 5.5 million by 2027, co-financed at 80% with European funds. It will bring more dignity to an emblematic building located in one of the most important spaces in the city.
This work, which has three basic objectives – to enhance what has heritage value, remove what doesn’t, and leave a historically improved building up to the needs and category of Écija – combines the classic and the modern perfectly. The interior will be renovated and spacious, with the best conditions for the tasks it entails, a patio that will reinforce its institutional function, and facades that continue the ones created by Balbino Marrón, giving a unified image and ensuring the building enjoys an A energy rating.
The Andalusian Government has an absolute commitment to Andalusian municipalities and to the municipality of Écija, which is steadily progressing, gradually improving its infrastructure, strengthening its agricultural sector, promoting education and employment, and implementing actions that significantly update the city.
