The Ministry of Health and Consumption is already working on the functional plan for the new health center in Cazorla. This was communicated by the minister Rocío Hernández to the mayor of the municipality, José Luis Olivares, during a technical meeting where the necessary modifications to the proposed site by the City Council were discussed. According to Hernández, «we want primary care to return as soon as possible to the urban core of Cazorla, which is why we are already working on a plan that guarantees compliance with current regulations and meets the model of health center that Cazorla deserves.»
The main objective of this meeting has been to analyze the technical report that details the different modifications and corrections to the site proposed by the City Council. In this regard, the minister has explained that it will now be necessary to determine if the proposed land ultimately meets the requirements established by the technicians for the location of the new health center in Cazorla.
Likewise, the possibility of hiring an external audit to assess the feasibility of reforming and rehabilitating the old health center has been considered. Any decision will always be made «ensuring the safety at all times of both the patients who will attend the center and its professionals, so we ask for the utmost rigor in each phase of the process,» added the minister.
Hernández wanted to highlight all the work done since the difficult decision was made to close the old health center due to safety reasons. In this context, she noted that today, a collective ambulance transport service has started operating for the transportation of residents with reduced mobility, disabilities, or elderly people without their own vehicle who need to go to the High Resolution Hospital for health reasons. This service, fully assumed by the Andalusian Government, will operate from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, as long as there is no alternative transport. In this line, the mayor of the municipality has stated that the feasibility of expanding the urban bus route is being studied through the corresponding procedures.
Finally, Rocío Hernández wanted to thank «the great effort being made by the healthcare professionals now located at the high resolution hospital, increasing home visits by 40%, conducting intensive proactive monitoring of the elderly through phone calls, etc.» All of this is aimed at ensuring the best possible care for the population of Cazorla.
