Until September 20th, you can enjoy this activity that combines the opportunity to visit and stroll at night through the Jardines del Real Alcázar, with attending concerts that delve into the music that has embraced this impressive palace complex throughout its history. The activity is now entering its third week of concerts, which will take place from July 8th to 12th, from Tuesday to Saturday.
On Tuesday, July 8th, flamenco returns with the singer Rubito Hijo, winner of the Lámpara Minera in 2003. With a powerful voice and a unique duende, Rubito Hijo is considered a continuation of the Sevillian tradition and the school of José Menese. He will present «A voice for a legacy» where the singer pays homage to the poet, painter, and lyricist Francisco Moreno Galván, on the centenary of his birth; one of the pillars of modern flamenco, who stood out for his literary mastery and his commitment to social causes, turning flamenco into a deeply human and universal expression. In this show, Rubito Hijo will perform a selection of songs based on Moreno Galván’s lyrics, blending flamenco poetry with a vocal performance full of emotion. He will be accompanied by Marcos Serrato on guitar.
On Wednesday, July 9th, Graci Rodríguez will perform, accompanied by Manuel Soto «Noly» and Alberto Álvarez, both members of the legendary band Mártires del Compás. Graci Rodríguez is an artist who has managed to find the perfect balance between tradition and modernity, creating a unique style that resonates with the new generations without losing the essence of flamenco. Her music is a reflection of her soul, a fusion of roots that invites us to embark on an unforgettable musical journey. Each of her songs is a window into her inner world, full of passion and authenticity. Her music not only reflects her talent but also her ability to evoke deep emotions. She will present «With the stems in the earth, roots and evolution», where she explores the cultural roots of Andalusia while rising to new musical heights.
On Thursday, July 10th, ancient music returns with soprano Cristina Bayón and Sara Águeda, one of the best Spanish interpreters of historical harps. Both are regulars in prestigious national and international formations (Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico, Coro Barroco de Andalucía, Capella de Ministrers…), performing in important concert halls around the world, and they come together to showcase the multiple facets of women’s musical aspect presented in the Golden Age. They will offer the program «Flying Cupid» focused on Spanish baroque vocal music from the 17th century. Pieces by José Marín, Antonio Martín i Coll, or Sebastián Durón, among others, will be performed.
On Friday, July 11th, classical music arrives with Cuarteto Bruma, a group formed by four young performers with a solid individual trajectory, who have made their mark on the music scene with notable events, and of which the specialized press believes it is a formation «that aims at great things thanks to its technical solidity, refined sound, and notable blending». They will present the program «Latin American Dances», a vibrant musical journey through Latin America, highlighting works by Heitor Villa-Lobos, José Elizondo, and Astor Piazzolla. The quartet selects pieces that fuse tradition and modernity, capturing the essence of Latin American music. The program promises to immerse the audience in a unique and captivating musical experience.
And on Saturday, July 12th, soprano Soraya Méncid and Manuel Navarro on piano will perform. A young duo of musicians who, after completing their higher music studies in Seville, decide to move their artistic activity to Italy where they specialize in the field of lyrical opera. They will present «Songs of Spain» where the duo takes a brief journey through three great styles of Spanish vocal composition. Starting with Manuel García, with two little gems that touch on Spanish folklore, folklore that continues in the songs of Turina and Guridi. They will then move on to trace the brushstrokes of a genre that was very popular in the last century, the Revue. And finally, gracefully moving through a festivity, they will arrive at zarzuela, our quintessential lyrical genre.
Tickets can be purchased for the unique price of 7 euros, online on the official website of the activity.
