The Andalusian president, Juanma Moreno, has visited the improvement and expansion works at the La Cartuja Stadium in Seville, which have resulted in the addition of 12,000 more seats, totaling 70,000 seats in total, making it the third largest stadium in Spain after the Bernabéu and Nou Camp in Madrid and Barcelona, with the Junta investing 10 million euros out of the total budget of 15 million.
Moreno explained that La Cartuja now has a new ring of stands, five meters lower than before, and after five months of work, Seville once again has the opportunity to shine this Saturday with the Copa del Rey final as a renovated stadium.
He noted that it now presents a new face and an even more powerful venue to those who witnessed the previous Copa del Rey final here last year.
In this way, he emphasized that with these works, this stadium positions itself as a five-star venue as it has always been its vocation, with the capacity to host a large number of sporting, cultural, and concert events.
The President of the Junta recalled that since 2019, continuous improvements have been made at this stadium, from fixing the roof to expanding the stands, in addition to renovations in restrooms, locker rooms, player tunnels, and better access. «All this investment and management effort make it possible for us to have the best stadium meeting the requirements for the 2030 World Cup. Therefore, we will continue with more works, especially for the modernization of access to the complex and the new facade cladding.»

He indicated that the requirements set by FIFA for the significant event of the 2030 World Cup will be met in advance, transforming it into a key infrastructure in the international sports scene. The aim is to provide a brilliant stadium that will serve as the best possible showcase for a city that has always played a fundamental role in football and will be one of the most followed venues in the world of sports in 2030.
