The President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, has advocated for the implementation of realistic measures to balance supply and demand, removing obstacles and speeding up the construction of new homes. He emphasized the commitment of the Andalusian Government to the housing problem and highlighted that in the last five years, the promotion of protected housing in Andalucía has tripled compared to the previous five years, reaching over 10,000 new homes.
Moreno attended the Costacabana area in Almería for the delivery of 64 affordable rental homes. A project that, as he explained, involved the collaboration of the three administrations, the Government of Spain, the City Council of Almería, and the Junta de Andalucía.
In this way, he stressed the importance of everyone working towards the same goal to solve the housing problem and advocated for doubling efforts to plan measures that are truly effective, which involves expanding the supply and promoting the construction of protected housing.
At this point, he mentioned some of the measures that have been implemented to address the housing problem, such as the LIST and its Regulation for its development, which is a real revolution in urban planning and housing and a huge relief for many mayors by significantly speeding up these procedures, always through dialogue with the municipalities.

He emphasized that for this purpose, innovative and necessary measures are introduced in the Decree Law to make this large-scale operation viable, allowing municipalities to change the use of plots intended for tourism, offices, or facilities to dedicated protected housing, except for plots designated for educational and health use.
On another note, he referred to employment as another concern of Andalusians and pointed out that in February, unemployment decreased by 2,268 people. «Thanks to the efforts of everyone, Andalusia has been reducing unemployment for 46 consecutive months,» he said.
