The General Directorate of Childhood, Adolescence, and Youth, under the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality, has organized technical sessions for the exchange of experiences and best practices from the NAYFA program for children and adolescents in difficult or conflictive family situations.
NAYFA is a preventive, public, and free service, part of the public resources network for the care of children and families in Andalusia, aimed at supporting and guiding families with children who are starting to show adaptation or behavioral problems, especially within the family context. In 2024, 543 families and 570 minors were assisted through this program.
Among NAYFA’s objectives are promoting socio-parental skills in children and adolescents to facilitate their adaptation and well-being in the family and social environment, as well as developing and strengthening parents’ abilities to positively exercise parenthood and promote the well-being of all family members, creating a space for connection.
During the technical sessions, with nearly fifty attendees, the implementation manuals and the use of the NAYFA software application, as well as the results obtained and the characteristics of a new project for professional intervention analysis, were presented.
This software application integrates all the information gathered through the assessment protocols and tools applied to families and minors assisted, allowing technical staff to register and exploit the data obtained during the intervention, and quickly assess the results following the evaluation tools application.
Moreover, the meeting has provided a space for exchanging experiences among the different entities managing the program in Andalusia, to showcase the regional and provincial reality through joint reflection on improvement proposals and recognition of progress and achievements.
The sessions have been supported by the University of Seville and the participation of the Prevention Services of the territorial delegations of the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality, as well as specialized entities and the Children and Adolescents Observatory.
