El Gobierno municipal, a través del Distrito San Pablo-Santa Justa, ha llevado a cabo la recuperación de un edificio ubicado junto a la avenida de Kansas City después de permanecer abandonado durante siete años. El alcalde de Sevilla, José Luis Sanz, ha visitado uno de los talleres socioculturales que se están desarrollando en este edificio municipal en la avenida 28 de febrero, el cual fue construido en 2018 y equipado completamente, pero que el gobierno municipal del PSOE no llegó a poner en funcionamiento debido a su mala gestión.
El alcalde ha recordado que el equipo de gobierno actual logró desbloquear esta situación en septiembre de 2024 en unas instalaciones donde coexistían equipamientos sin estrenar, aún con envoltorios de plástico y hormigueros, reflejando el abandono característico del estilo de gobierno del partido socialista.
«Este edificio ha pasado de ser un espacio olvidado con áreas sin utilizar a convertirse en uno de los centros más importantes del barrio, con más de 14 horas de actividad diaria protagonizadas por diferentes asociaciones y talleres socioculturales», ha afirmado Sanz.
Las actividades que tienen lugar en este centro no solo están dirigidas por entidades del barrio, sino que también benefician a toda la ciudad al albergar las sedes de la Asociación Sevilla del Corazón y la Agrupación de Deportistas de Sevilla.
El alcalde ha destacado que «con la puesta en marcha efectiva de este edificio, se demuestra que Sevilla está progresando, respondiendo a las demandas de los vecinos y dejando atrás la negligencia y la indiferencia mostradas por el partido socialista al evidenciar su escaso interés por los barrios».
Activación real de los huertos urbanos en el Distrito
Sanz ha señalado que el fin del abandono del edificio de usos múltiples ’28 de febrero’ se suma al desbloqueo de la actividad en el espacio de huertos urbanos situado a 50 metros de distancia. «Este gobierno encontró unos espacios de cultivo completamente abandonados y hace más de un año los acondicionamos para su uso. El Ayuntamiento liderado por el PSOE asignó una serie de huertos sin haber completado su adecuación, lo que los dejó en un estado de abandono total», ha explicado Sanz.
El alcalde ha resaltado que actualmente hay 14 huertos en funcionamiento y próximamente se adjudicarán 20 más, lo que representará nuevos elementos de dinamización para el vecindario en el distrito.
«El equipo de gobierno actual está comprometido con el bienestar y la calidad de vida de nuestros barrios. Lo demostramos con medidas donde los ciudadanos y sus preocupaciones están en el centro de todo, y con el constante desbloqueo de las iniciativas paralizadas por la mala gestión del equipo de gobierno de Antonio Muñoz», concluyó Sanz. «In this building, we have gone from the neglect of its unused spaces to being one of the nerve centers of the neighborhood with over 14 hours of daily activity led by different associations and socio-cultural workshops,» Sanz stated.
The activities at the center are not only led by neighborhood entities, but also for the entire city, as it hosts the headquarters of the Sevilla del Corazón Association and the Sevilla Athletes Association.
The mayor stated, «With the real activation of this building, it is demonstrated that Seville is progressing, responding to neighborhood demands, setting aside the neglect and indifference shown by the socialist party by materializing their lack of interest in the neighborhoods.»
«Real activation of urban gardens in the District»
Sanz indicated that the end of the abandonment of the ’28 de febrero’ multipurpose building is joined by the unblocking of activity in the urban garden space located 50 meters away. «This government found completely abandoned cultivation spaces and over a year ago we cleaned them up to be used. The City Council led by the PSOE awarded a series of gardens without having finished the adaptation and in a state of complete abandonment,» Sanz pointed out.
José Luis Sanz highlighted that, «currently, there are 14 functioning gardens and soon we will award 20 more which will represent new elements of neighborhood dynamism in the district.»
«The current government is committed to the well-being and quality of life of our neighborhoods. We demonstrate this with measures where citizens and their concerns are at the center of everything and with the constant unblocking of initiatives paralyzed by the poor management of the Antonio Muñoz government team,» Sanz concluded.
