ALCALÁ DE GUADAÍRA (SEVILLA), 16 (EUROPA PRESS)
The Local Government Board of Alcalá de Guadaíra has approved an extension of the deadline for neighborhood grants applications processed by the Citizen Participation Delegation until May 12. Due to the overlap of part of the application period with the Easter holidays, the local government has deemed it beneficial for the citizens and to facilitate the processing by neighborhood entities to extend this period by 15 business days, changing the deadline from April 21 to May 12, inclusive, as the last date for submission.
This was explained by the Delegate for Citizen Participation, Teresa García Cruz, in a press release, who noted that «the grants allocated to neighborhood associations amount to nearly 200,000 euros, benefiting over thirty entities annually.»
García Cruz argued that the local government has «consolidated the guidelines for the four lines of grants awarded by the Delegation to streamline procedures and provide greater efficiency in allocation, as part of the municipal commitment to promoting associationism as an essential tool for social cohesion and coexistence.»
In 2025, 94,700 euros will be allocated to neighborhood cohesion and coexistence activities (line 1); 3,000 euros for digital transformation promotion (line 2); 22,000 euros for improving facilities (line 3), covering expansion, accessibility, energy efficiency, furniture, and equipment upgrades; and finally, 64,610 euros for rental assistance for facilities (line 4).
García Cruz emphasized that neighborhood networks are an extremely useful factor in governance because they «articulate the opinions and needs of residents, who firsthand know what facilities are most needed or what measures can be taken to improve the environment. Additionally, Alcalá is already an example of active neighborhood entities, concerned about others and with a strong social vocation.»
Grants are processed through the municipal electronic headquarters. The City Council has made available the guidelines with application forms and all details on the municipal website for the entire population.
