The 91.98% of Andalusian students who have taken the Access Phase of the University Entrance Exam (PAU) have passed, which means 38,013 students out of a total of 41,327 examined students in this mandatory part, according to the data provided by the Ministry of University, Research, and Innovation. This percentage is lower than the 96.86% in 2024, due to the substantial changes introduced in the new evaluation model applied this year, which includes a format with less optionality and more weight on competency-based questions. In any case, the pass rate recorded this year corresponds to the levels achieved in the pre-stage.
Regarding gender, out of the 23,402 women who have taken this phase, a total of 21,441 have passed, which represents a 91.62% success rate, while in the case of men, 16,572 out of 17,925 have achieved a satisfactory result, equivalent to a 92.45% success rate.
The highest grade obtained was a 10 by a student in the province of Málaga. This is the maximum score that students can achieve in the Access Phase, although it can be complemented with four additional points obtained in the Admission Phase, based on the grade obtained in these exams and the weighting applied, according to the level of affinity with the degree requested. The next best grades were a 9.99 achieved by a student from the province of Málaga, a 9.985 obtained by a student from the province of Granada, a 9.975 achieved by three students (one from Málaga, one from Huelva, and one from Seville), a 9.966 recorded by a student from the province of Jaén, a 9.964 by a student from Córdoba, a 9.954 by a person from Seville, and a 9.95 achieved by nine students (one from Almería, two from Cádiz, two from Córdoba, two from Seville, and two from Málaga).
By universities, the University of Almería has recorded a 91.05% pass rate, with 2,939 out of 3,228 students passing, the University of Cádiz has achieved a percentage of 92.75%, with a total of 5,592 out of 6,029 passing the exams. The number of students passing at the University of Córdoba is 3,525 out of 3,791, representing a 92.98% success rate, those passing at the University of Granada amount to 5,161, a 91.06% of the 5,668 examined, at the University of Huelva they amount to 1,800 out of 2,070, which is an 87% success rate, and at the University of Jaén the pass rate is 92.54%, translating to 2,718 students out of 2,937.
On the other hand, the University of Málaga has a 92.56% pass rate, equivalent to 7,019 out of 7,583 students, the Pablo de Olavide (Seville) shows a pass rate of 93.66%, with 1,211 students out of 1,293 achieving satisfactory results, and at the University of Seville, the pass rate stands at 92.21%, indicating that 8,048 out of 8,728 young people have passed.
In this ordinary call for the PAU, a total of 8,744 students have also taken the Admission Phase, which is voluntary for grade improvement. In this case, they could be examined in up to four disciplines, although only the grades of the two most favorable ones for the chosen degrees are considered, weighing between 0 and 0.2, depending on the level of affinity to future university studies. The maximum score to achieve in this phase is four points.
The pre-registration phase begins
Once the results are known, on this same 12th of June, the period for submitting applications for access to the degrees of Andalusian public universities has opened, a deadline that will end on June 23rd.
To participate in the admission procedure, the Commission of the Single University District of Andalusia advises all students to submit the pre-registration application, even if they are suspended, in anticipation that they may pass the test after the necessary revisions.
As this is a competitive selection process, where applications cannot be submitted outside the established deadline, the software used to submit the application allows for a grade lower than five points to be recorded, which will be automatically updated when the university assigns a new grade, and if this grade is equal to or higher than five points, the application will be considered in the process with all rights.
As in previous years, university access pre-registration will be done exclusively online on the website of the Single Andalusian District. On this platform, those who have taken the exams at an Andalusian university do not have to submit any documentation to their academic institutions.
The publication of the first allocation of places will take place on July 3rd. On that day, the registration, confirmation, or reservation period will begin, lasting for seven days, until July 9th. The second allocation will occur on July 17th and will continue until October 10th.
To facilitate the selection of degrees, applicants can consult the cutoff marks from previous years, available on the website of the Single Andalusian District, for informational and guidance purposes. The cutoff marks are not set by the universities but correspond to the grade of the last student enrolled in each degree, university, and access route, and may vary from one year to another.
Interested individuals are bound by the order of preference established in the application, so that when the allocation is made, they will be assigned the place corresponding to the preferred degree and center in which they are admitted based on their access grade.
Employment integration survey to guide selection
The Ministry of University, Research, and Innovation has provided students starting the next academic year with the most significant data from a report prepared by the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia (IECA) on the subjects with the highest job prospects and the level of employment integration of graduates from academic institutions.
This information is available through the website of the Single Andalusian District. This measure aims to provide young university students with relevant information to help them decide which career to enroll in.
