The President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, participated in Granada in the ‘The carpet of culture and female leadership’ event, organized by the digital newspaper El Español, where he emphasized the goal of continuing to advance towards a society of equals, while also stating that the leadership and talent of women are essential in any society because «without them, there is no progress.»
Moreno pointed out that gender equality is not just about a government, but about a committed society, urging everyone to contribute their «grain of sand» to help create a society with greater progress and well-being, where everyone can project their talent and leadership equally.
«Andalucía will never be a leader without women. Let’s all make a land leader in equality, freedom, progress, employment, well-being, in the service of Andalucía and Spain,» he added.
He emphasized that in Andalucía, work is being done by providing the means, removing obstacles, and maintaining policies that help talent stand out in different areas, always on equal terms between men and women.
This new reality in Andalucía is written in the feminine, as reflected in the data, with over 40% of research personnel in the Andalusian community being women, their presence in R&D has increased by 30.4% in four years in Andalucía, and the 7,963 female researchers represent 40.2% of the total research personnel, above the national average.
