Andalucía will once again be represented for the second year with an institutional stand at the International Defense and Security Fair (FEINDEF), a global platform that connects national and international companies, institutions, and organizations, promoting innovation, technological development, and cooperation between public and private entities. This fourth edition will take place at IFEMA Madrid from May 12 to 14 and will feature the participation of industry leaders, startups, technology centers, and universities, fostering knowledge exchange and business opportunities.
Andalucía will participate in FEINDEF for the unique opportunity it provides to showcase the Andalusian entities and companies that drive or are part of the security and defense sector, a strategic area for the community due to its potential to attract investment and create employment, the international projection it offers to the Andalusian entrepreneurial, innovative, and research ecosystem, and the key importance of establishing alliances to strengthen public-private collaboration, also within the educational system and specifically in the Vocational Training field, which offers more than 30 training cycles and specialization courses in different professional areas that provide the human resources profiles needed by companies in this sector. Thus, in addition to the Ministry of University, Research and Innovation, responsible for coordinating and managing this participation hand in hand with Andalucía Emprende, the Junta de Andalucía’s stand will also feature Andalucía TRADE, under the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and European Funds, the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mines, and the Ministry of Educational Development and Vocational Training.
During this event, the Minister of University, Research and Innovation, José Carlos Gómez Villamandos, the Minister of Industry, Energy, and Mines, Jorge Paradela, as well as the Minister of Educational Development and Vocational Training, María del Carmen Castillo, will visit the stands of the Andalusian companies present at FEINDEF, hold meetings with the main companies in the national sector and with defense industry companies, and participate in the presentation of projects and prototypes by companies, research groups, or clusters.
The institutional stand of the Junta de Andalucía at FEINDEF, which will have an exhibition area of 144 square meters located in Pavilion 6, will be divided into four thematic areas. In this way, it will feature an exhibition space for the different technological prototypes developed by entities belonging to the Andalusian knowledge system, as well as a B2B meeting space aimed at professional meetings between Andalusian companies and other entities in the security and defense field, to establish collaborations in R&D+i initiatives and projects. The stand will also have an advisory space and a networking space for companies, research groups, clusters, and entities to have the opportunity to establish synergies and relationships with other organizations.
On the other hand, Andalucía TRADE supports the business activity at FEINDEF, co-organizing networking events with Madrid+d through the Enterprise Europe Network, and assisting and advising the companies approaching their work area, connecting Andalusian companies with other participating entities and non-Andalusian ones to attract them to Andalucía through Invest in Andalucía, and presenting the business services of Andalucía TRADE in terms of business financing, support for R&D, internationalization of companies, or their services for foreign investors outside of Andalucía.
Apart from the Junta’s stand, a total of 30 entities including companies in the defense and security sector, organizations, and institutions from Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Jaén, Málaga, and Sevilla, will have their own representation at FEINDEF.
The fourth edition of the Defense and Security Fair, which started in 2019 and is held biennially, will have an exhibition area of 60,500 square meters, over 600 exhibiting companies, 65 represented countries, and 100 international delegations, surpassing the figures of previous editions. Additionally, more than 35,000 professionals are expected to attend, with over 130 accredited media outlets.
