The President of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, has announced that Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) will continue to host the Spanish Motorcycle Grand Prix until 2031 thanks to the agreement reached with Dorna Sports, the promoter of the World Championship, allowing Andalusia to establish itself as a venue for top-level world sporting events, also in the field of motorcycling.
This was communicated by Moreno, who attended a new edition of the Spanish Motorcycle Grand Prix in Jerez on Sunday. «We will continue to enjoy this Grand Prix in Jerez until the period 2027-2031. This great communion between Jerez and this event, which has yielded such good results, is already a classic that will continue to be a reality,» he detailed.
«Today it’s motorcycles, but yesterday it was the Copa del Rey. And many more… Andalusia reaffirms and consolidates itself as the home of major sporting events, for example this weekend with two very classic and iconic cities that project an exact image of what Andalusia is, such as Seville and Jerez,» the president congratulated.
Juanma Moreno congratulates Los Palacios’ rider José Antonio Rueda, winner of the Moto3 race.
«The circuit has made a huge effort to improve in all areas: connectivity, transportation… An event that continues to break attendance records, with over 200,000 spectators and a huge economic impact. We are very happy to continue enjoying an event of this caliber,» assured Moreno, who was accompanied by Dorna’s CEO, Carmelo Ezpeleta.
The Jerez Grand Prix is one of the most special and highly anticipated events on the motorcycling world sports calendar. A calendar where Andalusia has its own place, with a modern circuit and a fan base that fills its stands every year.
It is worth noting that a significant investment has been made in safety and circuit renovations to ensure the Grade A homologation that allows it to continue hosting MotoGP world championship events, including new run-off areas in corners to improve rider safety, the remodeling of the VIP Tower, new grandstands, and the renovation of the main entrance gate.

The celebration of the Spanish Grand Prix is received with great anticipation throughout the province of Cádiz, attracting thousands of visitors and making a significant impact on the economy of Jerez, Puerto, Sanlúcar, Chipiona, Rota, and the rest of the province. In fact, only tourists staying in hotels this weekend generate nearly 15 million euros in the Jerez area.
Andalusia is now at the forefront of attracting major international sporting events, as well as cultural and entertainment events, having hosted events such as the Latin Grammys, the Goya Awards, or the Max Performing Arts Awards, along with major sports competitions ranging from the Davis Cup to the ACB Supercup, the Billie Jean King Cup in tennis, or the prestigious Solheim Cup in Golf. Events that generated nearly 650 million euros in advertising impacts in their promotional campaigns last year.
The celebration of the Jerez Motorcycle Grand Prix coincides this year with the Romería de la Virgen de la Cabeza in Andújar and the Copa del Rey in Seville. A total of over 3,000 personnel mobilized. At the Jerez circuit, the President of the Junta de Andalucía was accompanied by the Mayor of Jerez, María José García Pelayo.
