The Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) has published the order of the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality regulating and convening for the year 2025 the recognition of ‘LGTBIfobia-free Space’, in terms of diversity, to be awarded to those public and private entities and institutions whose trajectory or actions promote respect for the human rights of LGTBI people.
The purpose of this designation is to give visibility to those environments that represent, particularly in Andalusia, spaces of peace for LGTBI individuals, where they live with full equality, respect, security, and free of any sign of LGTBIfobia, recognizing the need to continue advancing in actions that contribute to promoting equality for all individuals regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity in all areas of Andalusia.
Likewise, it is intended that this recognition has a multiplier effect in raising awareness and sensitizing the population to the prevention and detection of any type of violent act against LGTBI people and their families and promoting values based on respect for sexual diversity.
The recognition will be awarded to those public and private entities and institutions that, through their trajectory or actions, promote respect for the human rights of LGTBI people, within the scope of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia.
Entities interested in obtaining the qualification must meet the following requirements: that among the actions they carry out, they expressly include activities to promote the rights of equality and non-discrimination of LGTBI individuals; that they adopt organizational and/or technical measures to ensure that their cultural, recreational, leisure, and free time activities are enjoyed in conditions of equality and respect for all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation, expression, or gender identity, and to prevent any act of prejudice, harassment, and physical or psychological violence against the users of these activities; and in the case of public entities and institutions, that they demonstrate that in the last three years they have allocated credits from their budget for actions in the field of diversity.
The deadline for submitting applications will be from the day following the publication of this order in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía, until June 30, 2025.
The recognition, of a symbolic nature, will consist of a distinctive logo of the identifying image «LGTBIfobia-Free Space». Recognized entities and institutions may use this distinctive logo, expressly indicating their name, the edition to which it corresponds, and the name of the Ministry.
