
The City Council of Seville, which will be held on Thursday, June 26 at the town hall, will address an investment of more than 7.5 million euros to increase the Tussam bus fleet, the final approval of the development plan for the northern area of the former Tobacco Factory of Seville, where the Altadis project is being developed; the UN summit to be held in Seville between June 30 and July 3, 2025; as well as the alleged corruption scheme in public works contracts of the PSOE, including the Centenario Bridge.
As reflected in the agenda for the plenary session, consulted by Europa Press, it will be debated to authorize the public transport company, Tussam, to arrange a financial leasing operation for the supply of 17 hybrid engine buses for a total amount of 7,697,600 euros plus VAT.
On the other hand, the plenary will vote on the final approval of the Development Plan for the northern area of the former Tobacco Factory of Seville, promoted by Sevilla Cubir River, S.L.U, in which the objections presented by the vice president of the Los Remedios Neighborhood Association, Miguel Prados, are partially estimated, and the objections presented by Ecologistas en Acción are dismissed.
In the area, the project of the company KKH is developing a new hotel, a parking lot, the division of the Cube building with more than two-thirds for private use, a public square, spaces for cultural uses, and green areas. Works that have been criticized by residents for the «cut» of the Manuel Ferrand playground, located next to the Las Cigarreras roundabout, and «moving the dog park, in addition to the reduction of 15 parking spaces.»
Also in the urban planning field, the Detailed Study of two plots of ‘La Cruz del Campo’ will be approved, a development by Emvisesa located between the Nervión and San Pablo neighborhoods, in which the City Council will invest 13 million euros for the construction of 92 protected housing units for sale.
UN SUMMIT AND THE «SCHEME» OF THE PSOE»
In the question section of the plenary session, the PSOE will ask a question regarding the UN summit on financing for development, which begins on Monday, June 30, and for which the mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, has called on the residents of Sevilla Este to «be patient» and «not try to move too much from the neighborhood» during the international event at the Congress Palace (Fibes).
In anticipation of this «chaotic» mobility forecast, San has asked in advance for «forgiveness and understanding,» as «many world leaders will arrive in the city» and «traffic is going to be very complicated,» adding to the works on Montes Sierra avenue due to the tram-bus.
On the other hand, the Vox Municipal Group will inquire about the alleged «kickbacks» in public contracts carried out by the PSOE, following the report from the Central Operating Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard, which indicates an alleged «economic benefit» for the former socialist Minister of Transport José Luis Ábalos with the replacement of the stays of the Centenario Bridge and the viaduct extension.
Finally, among the motions of the political groups, the PP calls for «responsibility» for the «railway chaos» in the city, and Con Podemos-Izquierda Unida makes a proposal to support the workers providing direct care to minors in Protection and Juvenile Justice Centers in the City of Seville.
